CHALLENGE TIME!

Pen and Ink CHALLENGE TIME!

Let’s see if you can do a fish!  I am going to try also!  Here is a link that walks you thru step by step.  I am going to use some of my Birthday Money to purchase supplies, nothing fancy but fun!  I will be more than happy to share!  Just ask!  I am going to try and make a fish!  I will post a picture of it when I am done, I would really like to see others pictures as well.  Please post one if you create one.  So the Challenge is, using pen and ink method create a fish, but make it our own, can you change it in some way so that it is your creation?

Shopping List:

Drawing Pencil

Good Eraser

Pen and Ink (I think I am going to look for one all together, less mess for an armature like me!)
Sketch Book or Paper

Shopping Results:

Went to Michaels and purchased two different pens, one fine tip and one brush tip, an eraser set (three types) and two pencils.  The total was about 10.00.  I was shopping for price as well as ease of use.  Nothing fancy just something to have fun with and try some new things with!  When I got home I pulled out a Crayola Sketch Book that I had bought for my son last Christmas, he has not touched it!

Time to play!  I love to be creative!  It is who I am!  I love to learn new things and give them a try.  With that said, I also LOVE order!  My life is structured, I like things to look put together and in place.  If you know me I am sure you are shaking your head and say yes as you read this.  So when handed a blank piece of paper and freedom I sometimes don’t know where to begin.  What if turns out looking bad?  What if I get it wrong?  What if I mess it up?  These are all hesitations I have.  Can any of you relate?

Okay, so there I am in my work space with all new tools and where do I start?  Pencil!  That’s right start with the pencil, then you can erase it.  One big oval.  No not just one, I have seen artist swish pencils round and round to get the true feel of the shape, I must do that to, right?  Okay, Oval done!  What was I doing?  Oh yeah a fish, so a tail.  Long and swishy.  Swishy?  How do I make it look swishy?  Maybe this way?  Oh never mind, I won’t do a fish!

Let me try something else………  J

I have taken pictures of the two pages of doodles.  I enjoyed myself.  I have my favorite doodles and the doodles I wanted to just cover up.  (No I didn’t)  I can’t wait to see your doodles!

Can you see the fish?

I thought Iwould try and make a room with this one.  It ended up with just a wall, window and a night stand.  I then went back to doodles!

Hope you enjoyed!  Can't wait to see what you have come up with!
